Durban motorhead Darren Govender decided to build his first engine and chose to boost a 4AGE 20V Blacktop. The engine was thrown into a 2000 model RXI Corolla which he purchased as a non-runner.
Together with the help of his father, brother and mechanic, they got the Japanese motor purring like a wild cat.
The 20v top is fitted with a Toyota ZE bottom end, which comes off a supercharged engine and is better suited to handle boost compression ratios.
Darren's older brother paid for the paintjob on the car, done by Vinod of Destiny Customs. The flip orange gives this 20v a uniqe twist, along with the tb28 turbo charger. That's because these high revving cars are mainly kep naturally aspirated.
