As a guest speaker at Stanford University’s course on ‘artificial intelligence applications in the AEC industry’, I presented The Crystal building case study as a role model for sustainable intelligent buildings focusing on both the active and the passive measures implemented along with limitations. The Crystal represents a technology and design showcase that received both LEED Platinum and BREEAM Outstanding certifications. In closing, I discussed a vision for the city of the future.
