What is a charge? More than a suggestion and less than a command. It is a strong statement that what is being said would be of great benefit to you.
· Paul is stating this in front of Jesus, which is pretty weighty.
· The charge here is to Preach the Word of God. The word of God is enough to do 4 things:
o Be prepared with an answer for what we believe in people around us.
o Patiently correct using the Word of God, so people’s faith is not anchored in our own words, but in the power of the Word of God
o Patiently rebuke by showing their wrong from the Word of God and revealing what may happen if they ignore what the Word of God says.
o Patiently encourage using the Word of God
