Expectations can inspire growth—or quietly hold us back. In this talk, Salam Munshi examines how expectations from society, school, and even ourselves influence performance, confidence, and decision-making. She explores the difference between healthy motivation and limiting pressure, helping students understand when expectations push them forward and when they need to be challenged. This talk invites young people to reflect on whose expectations they are living up to—and how redefining them can unlock personal potential. Salam Munshi is a freshman law student at Dar Al-Hekma University. She is interested in learning about the intersections between industries and concepts.
