3 in 1 Ride - Cherohala Skyway - Tail of the Dragon - Foothills Parkway

3 in 1 Ride is a ride consisting of the Cherohala Skyway - Tail of the Dragon - Foothills Parkway
We left Rooster's Cycle Stop in Monterey Tennessee at 8am and met with more riders that were waiting for us at the rural King in Crossville Tennessee. we left there around 8:45 or so and headed out to the Cherohala Skyway, we took rt.68 all the way to Telico Plains where we stopped for gas and continued on Skyway, we took a short detour to Bald River Falls which is right off the beginning of the Skyway. We left the Falls and headed up into the mountains to complete the Cherohala Skyway portion of the ride. We then turned onto rt. 129 and headed towards Deals Gap. On the way we stopped at the Tapoco Tavern for lunch. Lunch was a little pricey but it was good. We then continued on to Deals Gap where we stopped to look around at the stores there and take a few pictures. We then continued the ride on 129 aka the Tail of the Dragon. We did take the time to stop and see a Civil War grave site that is there in the woods. We then continued on to complete the Tail of the Dragin and head to the Foothills Parkway. We made a couple stops on the Parkway 1 stop is a must. "Look Rock" where we took the time to take a short hike up to the observation tower where the views are just incredible! We returned to the bikes and continued on to complete the ride of the Foothills Parkway and came out in Wears Valley, we then rode to
we stopped again for fuel and a cold drink. The time had come to head back to Monterey. We took
rt 321 to rt 70 bringing us out in Crossville where some of us went our separate ways and the rest continued on 70 back to Monterey and Jesse and I back to Rooster's where I enjoyed little time by the camp fire my wife had made while waiting for us to return. We left Rooster's at 8am and we pulled back in a 8:05pm, I set my trip meter before I left and when we got back it read 342.2 miles. It was a great day of riding with beautiful weather and awesome scenery with great people. You only live once, go make memories and, as always, RIDE YOUR BIKE
