The gist; I’ve been doing this hobby long enough to see the evolution and trends of various editing communities on YouTube and now social media at large.

These days your typical edit will be approx 10 - 30 seconds long and then loop a couple times to bring the run time to 1 to 1 and a half minutes (or less). Short and repetitive is the game. One can get away with this if the thing they have looped flows and is aesthetically pleasing.

Now BACK IN MY DAY shakes cane we edited songs in their entirety and to loop an edit was a cardinal sin.

But I digress, I completely understand how we arrived here. Technology has advanced, and attention spans are shorter. And anyway, some of these looping TikTok edits are kinda vibey, and I’ve always embraced the vibes.

So here is my take on what the kiddos are doing these days. Minimal thought, just vibes. Also my first time experimenting with 60 fps. Hope it looks ok??

As for the films well, I’ve been loving all the movies coming out with this Spider-verse animation style. Will definitely do an edit with the new TMNT when digital version comes out!
