2013-2019 Ford Escape PTU (Power Transfer Unit) Oil Change

On this episode of Repair Geek, I show you how to change your power transfer unit (PTU) fluid on your Ford Escape. These PTU's are much less failure prone than the older PTU's but, they still need to be serviced. They require 75W-140 synthetic gear oil. This generation of Ford Escape only uses just over 1/2 of a quart of oil. The procedure for the oil change is very simple. It is just a matter of drain and fill.
