To kick off the 2018 Heritage Railway season, the Mid-Hants railway held their annual Pre-Spring Steam Gala over the 9th-11th February. The build up to the gala was a nail-biter with a big question mark over the availability of Black 5s 45379 and 45231 due to repairs.
The event, which ran well despite the truly horrible weather, featured both freight and passenger workings as well as a number of double headed trains.
