We are in Cleveland Ohio hunting for all the New Superman Filming Locations! Superman 2025 a James Gunn Film starring a handsome David Corenswet as Superman, has multiple filming locations in Cleveland, Ohio. Superman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. Produced by DC Studios, Troll Court Entertainment, and the Safran Company, and to be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it will be the first film in the DC Universe (DCU) and a reboot of the Superman film series. The film is written, directed, and co-produced by James Gunn and stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent / Superman, alongside Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Nathan Fillion, and Isabela Merced. The film explores Superman's journey to reconcile his alien heritage with his adoptive human family.

Development on a sequel to the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film Man of Steel (2013) began by October 2014, with Henry Cavill set to reprise his role as Superman. Plans changed after the troubled production of Justice League (2017) and the Man of Steel sequel was no longer moving forward by May 2020. Gunn began work on a new Superman film around August 2022. In October, he became co-CEO of DC Studios with producer Peter Safran and they began work on a new DC Universe. Gunn was revealed to be writing the film in December. The title Superman: Legacy was announced the next month, Gunn was confirmed to be directing in March 2023, and Corenswet and Brosnahan were cast that June. The subtitle was dropped by the end of February 2024, when filming began in Svalbard, Norway. Production primarily took place at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with location filming around Georgia and Ohio. Filming wrapped in July. The film takes inspiration from the comic book All-Star Superman (2005–2008) by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, among others.

Superman is scheduled to be released theatrically in the United States on July 11, 2025. It is set to be the first film of the DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters.

We are in Clevleand before James Gunn's Superman opens in theaters, so we are totally going off the trailer alone. we are gonna match up some shots, with our favorite Film Stalker, James Gelet! James Gelet is legendary among film location stalkers. James Gelet is also the creator of my favorite documentary, "The Shark is Still Working" . We meet up super early downtown around 6 AM so we don't have to deal with cleveland traffic and can shoot in the streets. Now I'm sure the Ohio film commision Tax incentive is what brought James Gunn and the movie Superman to Cleveland, but Superman belongs here. Cleveland is were the story begins. in 1930 to Clevlenad boys Joe Shuster and Jerry Siegel created the iconic bulletproof allien who fought for justice. You can still visit Joe and Jerry's childhood homes that each have Superman memorobelia and the original comic book story attached to the houses.
Ourt first movie location is The Leader Building or Leader Residence. This is a luxury apartment skyrise here in Cleveland, but in Superman's Metropolis this stands in for the exterior of The Daily Planet, the newspaper Clark Kent works for. Production added a giant globe over the door that is no longer there but other than that it looks the same.
Next up is The Arcade Building. The Arcade Building in Cleveland is just begging to be put on the silver screen. It's just stunning. The Arcade opened in 1890 as an indoor shopping plaza and people called it the Crystal Palace of Cleveland. This is where in the trailer, Superman and Louis Lane share a kiss in the air! Next we head over to the new Sherwin Williams global headquarter to match the scene of Superman saving the young girl. Next is Cleveland City Hall for the trailer scene that looks like Superman is being apprehended and then its over to PNC Bank on Euclid Ave for the scene where the Man of Steel, falls from the Sky and lands in a pile of bricks.

Other filming locations include the Key bank building interiors and exteriors and the home of the Cleveland Gardians or Metros in the city of Metropolis, Progressive Field.

Lastly, about a 30 minute drive along lake Erie you'll run into Mentor Headlands Beach Park, located in Mentor, Ohio. Here many of the New Superman movie Beach/War scenes where shot her. We even got to see production build the set in June 2024.
