WTCC - WESTERN TOURING CAR CHAMPIONSHIP - Buttonwillow 14A - GTA Finals crossover.
Race 1 - I was charging up the field and in an intense battle for 4th when I dropped the left rear in the dirt, got a little sideways and ultimately spun - tapping the competitor behind me as he passed and beaching me in the super soft sand.
My car on the other hand.... mostly destroyed the carbon Epsilon+ bumper, splitter, headlight blanks, radiator ducting, intake ducting, crash bar, and moved the frame rails over about 4". If you've learned anything about me this season - I don't give up.
We quickly tore the front end off, hooked up some ratchet straps to the mangled crash bar and enlisted the nearest truck to pull the front end straight. We got it good enough to open and close the hood, beat all of the ducting straight with a mallet, taped nearly half the bumper made some new mounting holes for the headlight blanks, and got the car ready to go for Race 2 with 10 minutes to spare.
