OVERVIEW
The mini version features a wide decorative border.
0:00 Mini backing & batting cut, 18 x 15 inches to allow a generous border.
1:00 Full-size backing & batting, cut 30 x 21 inches.
1:18 Both use busy cotton fabric and Warm & Natural cotton batting.
1:44 An allover layer of sky-colored fabric is helpful, especially if this is your first large raw-edge applique project. If you spray baste these bottom three layers, everything will be stabilized.
2:07 Spray Basting Protocol — I like to spray OUTSIDE - avoid windy days, spray downwind. If you must work INSIDE - protect lungs.
2:40 Protect surfaces. Plan ahead and spray extra projects at the same time.
2:55 Shake can well. I prefer 505. Spray 12" away from work. Spray the batting.
3:16 Work systematically.
Reposition as needed.
4:58 Fold carefully in one direction only.
5:20 Same thing with the mini. Spray half. Flip it. Then spray the other half.
