New Way to Soar

Today is Silver Star Service Banner Day, honoring recipients of the #SilverStar as well as anyone who made sacrifices during their military service. Our next veteran story is about Richard Lilliston, who found his “New Way to Soar” after retiring. From Painter, Virginia, Richard served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Gulf War. His passion for flying drove him to serve as a helicopter mechanic. Due to an injury, he had to retire early from the military and was faced with a challenging new journey toward a new life and vocation. His love of music and playing the saxophone helped him do just that. This is our third release as part of a collaboration with Operation Song, an organization that honors veterans through music!
