Thinking that a quail radiator cap would look nice on my 1929 Model A Ford I bought one . After it was on the Model A about 6 months ( I drive it very little ) the neck on the radiator broke where it was soldered on . I re soldered it carefully I have experience doing this and it was done properly . After a few trips to car shows etc.
it broke again and I re soldered it again and it broke again at the solder joint so the third time I re soldered it with a circle of 5/32 inch square brass stock from a hobby shop at the joint to increase the soldering area and make the joint stronger then the Quail was removed and a standard cap was put on the radiator now if I go to a show I will take the Quail along in a box and put it on for the show then take it off when going home .
Keep those Model A's rolling . Bob
