I couldn't find any information on the band, and I suspect that they may have been a group of session musicians put together for the purpose of recording only a few songs, as was the case with Charisma with "Mammy Blue" in 1971. Nevertheless, all indications are that they were South African.
This song was released on 7" single in 1973. It went to #19 on the South African Top 20 and charted for 3 weeks. It also went to #2 in Australia. The B-side of the 7" single was not by Osmosis, but by another South African artist, Bernie Brown, with "Dreamy River".
