Bikepacking Vancouver Island: Gordon River & Ancient Tall Trees

Follow me on a simple easy 150km loop that starts in Lake Cowichan and leads to the ocean and back by way of Port Renfrew along the picturesque Gordon River and a portion of the Pacific Marine route. Many ride this loop as a mixed surface training ride in a day, however I took three days to find many hidden gems along the way. From the “Gnarliest Tree in Canada” to the tallest Douglas Fir tree known as “Big Lonely Doug.” You’ll even see a small little fir tree that is supposedly the most photographed tree in BC.
