1961 Fender (Bass) VI - is this a baritone guitar? It’s easy to mistake this one for a baritone but I don’t think that’s the right term. This vintage Fender VI electric bass guitar has just come from the single owner it’s had since 1962! He traded his 1957 Fender Stratocaster for it just after it was made. Many players call this one a Bass 6 and for good reason. It’s such a unique instrument with its three Stratocaster style pickups, floating tremolo tailpiece (tremolo on a bass guitar??), offset guitar styling, and cool early Fender features. This is one of the earliest examples of the model with its neck date of 10/61 (October 1961!).
