Ο πρώτος τους δίσκος κυκλοφόρησε το 1973 και το συγκρότημα γνώρισε μεγάλη επιτυχία στα μέσα της δεκαετίας του '70, αλλά το 1977 τρία μέλη τους σκοτώθηκαν σε αεροπορικό δυστύχημα, γεγονός που οδήγησε στη διάλυση τους.
Το 1987, τα υπόλοιπα μέλη του σχήματος επανενώθηκαν για μια μόνο tribute περιοδεία με τον Τζόνι Βαν Ζαντ στο μικρόφωνο, μικρό αδελφό του ιδρυτικού μέλους και θύματος, Ρόνι Βαν Ζαντ.
