At a campaign rally of the Yangon Region Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) held at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, USDP Chairman Khin Yi said that if the promises made during the election campaign were not fulfilled satisfactorily, people had the right to “punch with their fists.”

Similarly, Nay Aung — a pro-military actor and staunch supporter of the junta — also said at a meeting between local residents and the USDP candidate running for the Dala Township constituency in Yangon Region that any Member of Parliament who fails to look after their constituency after being elected “will be met with fists.”
