This is an attempt to fix the red light flashing on a series of Hilti Nuron batteries , B22-85 and B22-255.
These are made in 2022 and after 1 year ( found them last year) they are flashing red error. I took the BMS out of a B22-85 just to see how this is made.
The ARM MCU ST32F091 is at the base of this BMS.
I got the debug tools with the ST-Link to enter the chip, via a small resistors on the side, connected to the PA13 SWDIO and PA14 SWCLK.
Contrary to the Dyson chip where you can perform read/write into the EEprom, data, this is completely sealed to any reading.
Attempting to change the read protection bits erases the flash program area.
Just connecting with the debugger tool and it jumps out of the running application to a "CPU halted" state where I cannot run the BMS app again.
Hard reset on the NRST pin does not boot up back from the flash program zone, it does nothing.
This thing is made, unfortunately, very tight sealed to not allow custom reset.
The cells are heavily unbalanced, probably the reason the pack fails into red error blinking, even after balance, the pack still stays in red light blinking.
There is no way to convince the MCU to start the program, the reset pin just does nothing more.
I have now 2 expensive bricks, maybe a good reason to avoid buying this proprietary planned obsolescence product.
Of course, testing the battery proves to have around 8mOhm per cell and around 3400mAh/cell, a perfectly good pack. Again, waste of money.
