Hiking Austria's Grand Canyon: A Journey Through the Ötschergräben in August

My stages of the Ötschergräben:
✅Forest: Our journey begins on a peaceful path through the woods.
✅Descent: We head down towards the sound of rushing water, catching the first glimpse of the mighty Lassingfall.
✅Canyon: The main event! We follow boardwalks and paths carved into the rock, with the crystal-clear Ötscherbach river below.
✅Hut (Ötscherhias): A well-deserved break at the charming Ötscherhias hut, a perfect spot for a rest.
✅Ascent: A final climb that rewards us with breathtaking views.
✅Erlaufklausee: Arriving at the serene Erlaufklause reservoir, the stunning end to our hike.

Important Tips for Your Trip:
leave No Trace: This area is pristine because there are no garbage bins. Please be prepared to take all of your rubbish with you.
take a Dip: You can swim in the streams, but be ready for the cold! The water is a refreshing 12°C, even in August.
getting Back: The hike is one-way. From the Erlaufklause station, you can easily take the Mariazellerbahn train back to Wienerbruck.
