Now, patrolling the same neighborhoods every day, cops work in tandem with residents to drive down crime—and the result is a more connected police department, an engaged public, and a safer city.
Last February in Bedford–Stuyvesant, NCOs, sector cops, and 79 Precinct squad detectives worked together with the community to solve a robbery at a local business.
