Maryland Area Rail Commuter, also known as MARC, is a system of three commuter rail lines in the US states of Maryland, West Virginia, and in Washington DC. The Penn Line uses tracks of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor between Washington DC and Perryville, MD. This line is electrified, and MARC trains using electric locomotives can travel at speeds of up to 125 mph (200 km/h) between Baltimore and Washington.
