If you’ve been in one then you know…
It’s like trying to get out of a maze and every way you go is a dead end. You’re mentally exhausted and emotionally drained. You want better for yourself.
Start by becoming present again. Thanking the version of yourself that put up with all of that and carried you through and letting them finally rest now. Just be. When you feel ready you can welcome in the new version of yourself. Taking as much time as you need to build from a place of internal love and validation. No longer so hurt from the past. Happier in the present and not afraid of the future.
When you choose the version of yourself you are becoming over being with them, then it’s done. The decision has been made.
Throughout the day, focus your awareness into your body, into that version of yourself. Build the strength of that person you are becoming.
If life is too crazy and demanding, making presence and awareness almost impossible, then carve out some time to practice yoga. Give yourself that consistency everyday and you will let go. The energy will release and you won’t be tied to this person anymore. You’ll be grateful that it didn’t work out because of the person you become.
You can you feel good about how you show up in relationships. Or maybe you want to work on a few things. Either way, it’s all good. You can feel resolve knowing you’re moving on to a better version of yourself. Moving on away from that stuck situation.
Maybe they’ll learn something through the experience and there’s room for forgiveness. Being easy on each other is a great way to be, if it’s mutual. But maybe they don’t. We need to accept people as they are and not try to change them to suit us. Let them be. Choose yourself.
