The 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport remains largely unchanged from the previous model year. What is new for 2021 though is an impressive list of standard safety features that come equipped on every model: automatic high beams, frontal crash mitigation, lane departure warning...all things that make your drive safer. The "Sport" moniker is sort of a misnomer, because this compact SUV is unbearably slow and unrefined -- buyers can choose from two engine choices, a 2.0L and a 2.4L. The former is the standard engine with 148hp, while the latter is the "upgraded" engine with 168hp only available on the top-tier GT trim level (our tester is a GT!). The GT comes standard with AWC (all-wheel control), while FWD is standard on the ES LE and SE trims (AWC is also an upgrade option). The Outlander Sport is a great value for the everyday commute, weekend trip or amateur off-road experience. But if you enjoy the finer things in life, the car's bargain-basement materials, outdated design and lacking technology probably will turn you off. Let us know your thoughts below!
