Mariposa Grove is a large grove of giant sequoia trees located in Wowona, California, within the Yosemite National Park. The park is known to be visited by tens of thousands of visitors a year, Marisposa Grove is famous to have a collection of famous trees in the world.

Between 2015 and 2018, the park has seen an extensive restoration project with an improved welcome center, transport terminals, updated restrooms, tourist information signages, and wooden elevated trails throughout the park. First visited by non-natives in 1857, the grove was named after Mariposa County by Galen Clark and Milton Mann who were consvervationalists and explorers during the 19th century.

The Fallen Monarch is a giant Sequoia tree that fell at its place more than 300 years ago. The roots fan out more than 150 feet and are usually no deeper than six feet. Sequoias are not known to grow deeps roots in seek of water and nutrition. Sequoia trees, also known as giant redwood, Sierra redwood, or sequoiadendron giganteum, are considered the largest species of trees in the world. These trees usually are seen in moist ridges and valleys of Sierra Nevada range, known as the Sequoia belt.

The Grizzly Giant is one of the oldest, densest, and largest trees in the world, with an estimated age between 1900 and 2400 years old. It has volume of 34,000 cubic feet and stands 210 feet tall. It is considered the 25th largest tree in the world. The California Tunnel Tree was cut in 1895 to provide coaches and horse-back riders passage through the grove. It was also cut to provide marketing to tourists and visitors to visit the grove.
