The urban village of Moseley in Birmingham is famous for its folk festival, held every September in an exclusive private park at the centre of the village. On 21st June 2011 a merry-go-round of real Moseley folk gathered in the tranquillity of Moseley Bog to celebrate the summer solstice and prove that you don't need big names and expensive wristbands to make a festival. Organically put together by everyone who heard the call and turned up, "Bogfest" brought together an eclectic array of musicians, artists, fire-builders, peacemakers and cymbal-bashing kids in the name of freedom, sunshine and sharing -- a dreamy day off from the consumer-obsessed world beyond the bog.
