This is some footage I came across and thought I would share it. It is a promotional film from 1917 published by the Ford Motor Company. The film follows a journey up the Columbia river highway in Oregon which had started construction in 1913 (parts of it were still under construction when this was filmed). The highway was the first major highway in the Pacific Northwest and it was the first designated scenic highway in the US. Much of the highway remains, although the construction of interstate 84 through the gorge has destroyed some sections of it. I thought this old film was very interesting and provided a cool window to a time when model T's were used for work and play.
