Three years to go and politicians have already kicked off political battles, forming alliances and counter alliances. The last week saw the emergence of 2 camps over the mau evictions controversy. On the one hand are former KANU stalwarts, now pro mau evictees, who are plotting to isolate Prime Minister Raila Odinga over his stance to kick out illegal settlers on the forest. The controversial fundraiser to assist the evictees brought out the who is who in the buildup of what promises to be a titanic battle between pro raila forces and those who want to lock him out of the presidency come 2012. It appeared that the group opposed to him was made up of leaders with strong KANU roots, some former members of yk92 and others who campaigned for Finance Minister Uhuru in 2002 as KANU's presidential candidate.
