So we are yet again walking and talking and I wanted to remind you all not to just do the thing, but do it with a sense of urgency.
I recently learned that not only is it important for us to do what we say we are going to do, but we should do so quickly!
I had intended to clean something for a very long time and when the time finally came when I had no choice but to clean because we were having company, someone had already done it! When I saw someone had already done the work I said I was going to do, a wave of guilt washed over me and I immediately had to confess and repent of the sloth I had exhibited.
If you keep putting stuff off assuming you will have tomorrow, eventually someone else is going to do it. The chance of a lifetime will be given to someone who is actually willing to do the work.
It also reminded me that Jesus is coming back soon and we are to be ready. In this instance, I wasn't ready so it got me thinking am I actually ready for His return as a Believer? If this were a test, I would have failed miserably! The irony is we actually talked about this same thing at church on Sunday!
Long story short, do what you say you're going to do with a sense of urgency, as if it needs to be done right now.
