In this video, we introduce Ansys HPC Platform Services (HPS) and show how it simplifies simulation job management in the cloud. Running on Ansys Gateway powered by AWS, HPS connects directly to your auto-scaling cluster and provides an intuitive way to submit, monitor, and manage jobs—whether from your local machine, a virtual desktop, or through a browser.
We start with an overview of HPS and how it integrates with Ansys Gateway to streamline HPC workflows. Then, using Ansys Mechanical as an example, we walk through the process of submitting a job: selecting the HPS queue, choosing the number of cores, and sending input files to the cluster.
You’ll see how to track job progress in Mechanical, or close the window to free up a license while the job runs in the background. We also explore the HPS Web UI, which displays project history, job status, cluster scaling activity, input files, and real-time output updates.
Finally, the video demonstrates how to retrieve your results—either by downloading directly in the browser or within the Mechanical interface. By the end, you’ll understand how HPS makes running simulations on AWS faster, easier, and more efficient.
