Recently I was chatting with @PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy about AI and the potential damage it can do. This is a shorter version of some of my issues with AI. It isn't fully comprehensive... I have a LOT of issues with how AI is being used, marketed, and advertised to students and writers... but this gets across many of my main points.
The context for this discussion is using generative AI as a teaching tool or writing tool. In other contexts, such as designing new molecules or batteries or circuit boards, it may be invaluable, but in terms of writing and education, it has major issues.
