An homage to Rocco Prestia, the King of Funk. Eastside is a vamp on Tower of Power's Oakland Zone album. It's the second cut off the album. I’m playing a bass cover with a couple of added licks related to some of my recent videos on enclosures and modes. This is a very syncopated funk groove. David Garibaldi plays a beat that almost sounds as if it is turning around and not in 4/4. The combination of the bass line and the horn section along with the syncopated organ comping makes this one (among many) classic funk tracks.
