Design and Development of an EEG-Based Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) System.
The system enables users to interact with computers using brain signals captured via EEG, specifically focusing on Steady-State Visual Evoked Potentials (SSVEPs). It’s designed to support individuals with physical disabilities by offering a hands-free communication and control method.
🔹 Project Features:
EEG Signal Acquisition Device: Portable and cost-effective, developed to capture brain signals from the visual cortex.
Flickering Frequency Selector: Uses 13 Hz, 17 Hz, and 21 Hz stimuli to trigger commands based on user attention.
Virtual Keyboard: Allows users to type by focusing on flickering keys (10 Hz, 12 Hz, 14 Hz, 16 Hz), supported by Dual Frequency Bias Coding (DFBC).
Machine Learning Integration: CNN and Transformer models classify the EEG signals for real-time response.
Data Visualization: Real-time EEG plots and frequency domain analysis (FFT) displayed on a custom interface.
🎯 This project explores how existing technologies can be combined to support accessible computing. It includes both hardware and software development for real-time interaction using brain signals.
