TRIA.os: LAYERS MORTEM (LAYERS' Medal Route Verification)

This is genuinely so much harder than it looks, probably a bit above Nos Astra if I'm being completely honest. I created the raw gameplay for the clicking part so you can thank me for that. It took surprisingly a lot of work to polish.

Speaking of polishing, the process to get the 2nd drop right (massive sync issues mainly on the clicking part) was just painstaking and obnoxious. Enszo was getting sick of fine-tuning it, and I was getting sick of playtesting and/or us thinking everything was good then I beat it and turns out there's a massive desync problem that needs to be fixed (I beat the medal path twice before this, which is exhausting considering its difficulty). In the end, however, things worked out. In fact, the 2nd drop syncs and feels more reliable to play now than it ever has since the map's release from my experience.

This medal path is VERY good, definitely the best one Enszo's made. It renders the original Layers almost unrecognizable and feels like a whole new map with how different it feels to play. In the medal path, you are always intermittently saying your code in your head, and you are constantly thinking about what's next. Normal Layers cannot even hold the title of "memory map" anymore because compared to this now official version of Layers Mortem, Layers can barely even be called a memory map.
