Curious how the next wave of agentic AI will let autonomous agents tap live business data, collaborate with each other, and drive end-to-end workflows? In this video I break down the three open protocols shaping the space:
Model Context Protocol (MCP) – Anthropic’s client-server approach that connects AI models to real-time tools and databases (think Apache Kafka, CRM, or cloud storage) with a simple context API.
Agent-to-Agent (A2A) – Google’s metadata-driven protocol that lets agents exchange structured messages and long-lived tokens, enabling secure multi-agent constellations without vendor lock-in.
Agent Communication Protocol (ACP) – IBM’s newest spec, powering BeeAI, for multimodal messaging between agents, apps, and even humans.
I walk through practical examples—from querying Kafka topics in natural language to chaining payment, shipping, and CRM agents—plus key trade-offs around security, context limits, and ecosystem maturity. All inspired by Adi Polak’s deep-dive on InfoWorld (June 17 2025).
