In this video the differences between an acute care nurse practitioner (ACNP) and a primary care nurse practitioner (PCNP) will be explained.
Dr. Amy Howells is an Associate Teaching Professor at the University of Washington School of Nursing in Seattle, Washington. She graduated as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from the University of Texas, Houston in 2005, and practised as an instructor, later as an assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine. She completed two post-master’s certificates in nursing education and acute care PNP, and finally obtained her PhD in Nursing from the same university in 2014. In 2016, she joined the University of Washington to facilitate the creation of the acute care PNP track.
