This webinar explores the IL-17 family of cytokines, key mediators of immune regulation that play crucial roles in maintaining tissue homeostasis and driving inflammation. We will discuss how dysregulation of IL-17 signaling contributes to the pathogenesis of chronic inflammatory diseases, including psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. The session will highlight recent advances in understanding the molecular pathways linking IL-17 activity to skin and joint inflammation as well as the different sources of IL-17 cytokine production (IL-23-dependent and IL-23-independent pathways). Attendees will gain in-depth insights into the biology and clinical relevance of IL-17 cytokines contextualized for chronic inflammatory dermatoses.

Learning objectives:

Describe the biological functions of the IL-17 family of cytokines in maintaining immune homeostasis and promoting inflammation.
Explain the role of IL-17 dysregulation in the pathogenesis of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, and hidradenitis suppurativa.
Evaluate gene expression signatures reflecting pro-inflammatory pathways in psoriasis and hidradenitis and appreciate how dual blockade of IL-17A & IL-17F contributes to normalization of these gene signatures and ultimately reduction of key immune cell activity such as tissue-resident memory T cells and neutrophils.
