A trauma survey on survivors of pathological love relationships indicated 90% have trauma symptoms and 75% go on to have a trauma
disorder from no treatment, the wrong treatment or from trauma worsening from non-trauma informed care practices. With those percentages in mind, this IS a trauma population.
Yet, we find it incredibly common that survivors participate in non-trauma informed therapy or coaching that ignores the stabilization phase of treatment. This is a fundamental step in treatment and without it, many survivors will become re-traumatized, dysregulated, or will not be able to move forward in treatment.
