Based on the harmonic progression of Bach's Prelude in F minor from Book 2 of the Well-Tempered Clavier, there are hints of the melody, but it is broken up and placed in the uneven meter of 7/8 making it even more difficult to find. There is much more of a 20th century feel to the piece and the percussive nature gives it an aura of anger and unrest. There is a sense of perpetual motion, a feeling of being chased right up until the very end when the pursuit finally comes to a close.
