On championship race day, a pitbull racer cheats—overtaking and scattering nails across the track. McQueen blows a tire, slams the fence, and can’t continue; the kitten watches the pitbull lift the trophy in bitter defeat. At home, the kitten blames McQueen and kicks him out. Wandering to a construction site, McQueen falls into a deep pit and “transforms” into Excavator McQueen, raging through the site before returning to the track for revenge.
Rain turns the asphalt slick; while chasing the blue car, Excavator McQueen crashes again. A flashlight floods his face—McQueen wakes up. It was a dream born of exhaustion. The kitten runs in, hugs him, and says: “McQueen, please forgive me… Come home with me, McQueen!”
