Robert Wyatt ranked his arrangement and editing on this record as one of his proudest moments. Everyone is playing to their individual strengths but the collective energy is focused. Ratledge made the most emphatic use of "extensions" in the rock world, organizing chunks of strong harmony that give Wyatt and Hopper both foundation and freedom. Brian Hopper adds just the essential amount of horn parts. Sheets of sound, reverb used like an instrument, fuzz galore. The lyrics are meta and funny and humanistic and self-referential. I never get tired of it. (descriptions are my own words)

Pls buy some Wyatt material in such a way that he gets paid. Ratledge and Hugh Hopper have left us.
