A book review of Severance by Ling Ma

A science fiction post-apocalyptic novel set in New York City. We follow main character, Candace, a millennial woman who works in the publishing industry overseeing the production of bibles. Shen Fever, a fungal infection originating in China, spreads around the world. It's initial symptoms are similar to that of the common cold but after 1 to 4 weeks, there is a total loss of consciousness.
