Use eggs to grow crystals of a salt at home! We explore the neutralisation reaction of calcium carbonate in egg shells with acetic acid in vinegar to prepare a salt, calcium acetate.
If you would like to follow along you will need:
3-6 egg shells,
a large glass,
vinegar,
a spoon,
a funnel,
kitchen roll or cotton wool for the funnel,
a pan,
and a glass dish.
