This weeks I have traveled to the Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Virginia. Here we find the grave of a man who played a significant role in what President Gerald Ford once called “out long national nightmare,” that we know today as Watergate. Today, we are visiting the final resting place of Charles Colson, who held the position of Special Counsel to President Richard Nixon. Charles Colson, along with H. R. Halderman and John Ehrlichman were President Nixon’s most trusted advisors. All three of these men played a significant role during Watergate. Colson was eventually convicted of obstruction of Justice for his role in the Watergate Coverup and served 7-months in Federal Prison. After being released from Prison Charles Colson who was a born again Christian and became active in a number of Christian Outreach programs designed to Help Prison Inmates and their Families. Charles Colson Passed away at the age of 80 and because of his military service is resting here in the Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Virginia.
