गणेश चतुर्थी को विनायक चतुर्थी भी कहा जाता है, यह असल में एक हिंदू त्योहार है. इस त्योहार के दौरान लोग भगवान गणेश की बहुत भक्ति करते हैं. गणेश चतुर्थी की शुरुआत वैदिक भजनों, प्रार्थनाओं और हिंदू ग्रंथों जैसे गणेश उपनिषद से होती है. प्रार्थना के बाद गणेश जी को मोदक का भोग लगाकर, मोदक को लोगो में प्रसाद के रूप में बांटा जाता है.

इन दिनों लोग भंडारे भी करवाते हैं. और बहुत अच्छे से साज-सजावट भी होती है. इस त्योहार में पूरा माहौल भक्तिमय हो जाता है. गणेश चतुर्थी के दौरान सुबह और शाम गणेश जी की आरती की जाती है और लड्डू और मोदक का प्रसाद चढ़ाया जाता है. सबसे ज्यादा यह उत्सव महाराष्ट्र में मनाया जाता है और वहाँ की गणेश चतुर्थी देखने दूर-दूर से लोग आते हैं.
