Given the loop treatment and recorded live at the prestigious Bedford in Balham in 2019, this is certainly one of my oldest songs, written in earnest 30 years before, about the environmental crisis, and it appears later on my first studio cd album Long Way Out. In 2007 the song was recorded and filmed somewhere in the middle of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, UK - right after performing at Coleford Music Festival. This video has had a lot of organic views here on youtube since then, so thanks very much for watching, folks! I hope you enjoy this live-loop version.

"That's a good question, Peter, and thanks! I still feel the inspiration from whence Last Stand came 💚🌳.
I've never tried using a quantised looper. On both my loopers the timing is fundamentally down to keeping time with your foot pedal presses and your playing. My Boomerang III in my pedalboard also uses a sync mode with a master loop, making the subsequent multi-track loops multiples of the length of the first one. You cue them up in advance to close the loop at the end of the present cycle, which gives a bit of freedom on when you have to press the button (depending on the length of the master loop!). But for the Bedford gig I was using a simple Ammoon Stereo looper (with up to 10 minutes loop memory), so everything you hear is one long verse/chorus loop with live overdubs, just singing the verse/choruses whilst changing sound to bass, overdubbing bass, then changing to a lead sound by the time the instrumental break comes around (I think twice through the loop after it was recorded). While I do the harmonica solo I change back to an acoustic guitar sound ready fade'n'stop the loop when ready."
