Muslims rally in Peshawar in support of Rohingyas

(10 Sep 2017) Hundreds of supporters of an Islamist political party rallied in Pakistan's northwest city Peshawar on Sunday to express solidarity with Myanmar's minority Rohingya Muslims.
The Jamiat Ulema-e- Islam party's supporters demanded the expulsion of Myanmar's ambassador over violence against Muslims in his country.
The party urged the Pakistan government to put diplomatic pressure on Myanmar or recall its ambassador from the country.
The Rohingya say Myanmar troops and Buddhist mobs attacked them and destroyed their villages.
Myanmar's military says Rohingya insurgents attacked police posts.
The UN says hundreds of thousands of Rohingya have fled the country.
