From traffic to poor urban planning to endless bureaucracy, needless consumerism, advertising, companies with poor customer service and social media brainrot - every moment of our lives in the USA is taken from us.

America is designed to waste your time! In the vast majority of the country, cities and their outer areas aren’t set up to be livable. They’re set up for one reason: American cities are designed to waste your time. To keep you stuck in traffic, lonely, tired, and most of all: spending money.

But it goes deeper than the way our cities are built, at every turn, we’re bogged down with meaningless distractions and bureaucracy. You probably had to watch an ad when you first clicked on this video, if you’ve ever had to call customer service for literally anything, you’ve gotta navigate through a bunch of different menus and listen to pointless recordings just to talk to a person, you wait in long lines at the DMV. The things that ARE convenient are kinda pointless, do you really need next day shipping on the labubu clothes you ordered on Amazon? Or 20 minute delivery of that DoorDash burrito you financed with Klarna? I’ll say it again, America is designed to waste your time.
