Humans are social beings. We need to feel the support of those close to us in order to care for our emotional well-being. Companion animals are an essential part of that support network, known as social support.
When Diego moved to Spain at the age of 18, he discovered how difficult it could be to build a home away from his family. And during confinement, that feeling intensified.
That's when Pupi arrived and, with him, a way to mitigate the loneliness. Today he also accompanies him in therapy, where his presence helps to calm, connect and express feelings that are sometimes difficult to put into words.
