Defense Believes Defendant Wasn’t Involved in Young Dolph Murder: ‘You Will Not Be Convinced’

As opening statements in the Young Dolph murder trial continued on Monday morning, accused killer Justin Johnson’s attorney pleaded his innocence to the jury by saying, “with the evidence given by the state, you will not be convinced.” Johnson’s attorney continued to say he had no part in this shocking murder against Young Dolph, real name Adolph Thornton Jr.

Beloved rapper Young Dolph, real name was Adolph Thornton Jr., was shot and killed in Memphis, Tennessee back in November 2021. Several suspects have been charged in connection with his death. One of them, Justin Johnson, aka Straight Drop, faces trial for the murder of the rapper. If convicted, Johnson could face life in prison without the possibility of parole.
